Living for more than the moment

Romans 8:6-8

"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

Thru life we go thinking what next, where do we go from here, we don’t slow down and we run 700 mph per second. We try to do everything we love and most of the time we find ourselves overwhelmed and unhappy. The reason for this is because we have been train to live for this life, to consider the masters of our own destiny.

Trying to control your destiny is overwhelming and useless; because you have all this plans and let’s face most of the times they don’t come true and we get disappointed on life, depress and little by little we lose the will of to fight and live, because we are fighting alone.

Setting our minds on the flesh (things of this world) is against the purpose of our lives. The purpose of life is to worship. Think about it when the Israelites were in the desert and didn’t feel God near them, they created a golden calf as their god. When we put our goals and ambitions in God’s hands that is when we start really living, when peace come to you and the smiling and laughing come natural and you don’t force them to be there. God wants us to be free to worship and create a life where he is the center of us.
