Living for more than the moment

Romans 8:6-8

"For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

Thru life we go thinking what next, where do we go from here, we don’t slow down and we run 700 mph per second. We try to do everything we love and most of the time we find ourselves overwhelmed and unhappy. The reason for this is because we have been train to live for this life, to consider the masters of our own destiny.

Trying to control your destiny is overwhelming and useless; because you have all this plans and let’s face most of the times they don’t come true and we get disappointed on life, depress and little by little we lose the will of to fight and live, because we are fighting alone.

Setting our minds on the flesh (things of this world) is against the purpose of our lives. The purpose of life is to worship. Think about it when the Israelites were in the desert and didn’t feel God near them, they created a golden calf as their god. When we put our goals and ambitions in God’s hands that is when we start really living, when peace come to you and the smiling and laughing come natural and you don’t force them to be there. God wants us to be free to worship and create a life where he is the center of us.

First day at the BSM

Hello to everyone this blog has been created with the intention of glorify God, also to share all the experiences that he is blessing me with thru the Baptist Student Ministry (BSM) and to request prayers for students and including myself.

Here at the BSM in Kingsville we are all excited for the new school year that is come. We are already preparing all the stuff for Freshman Survival Weekend and Root Beer Fest. It was crazy yesterday I had to go and buy the Root Beer, 200 cases of Root Beer was bought and is ready to go today we will go and pick up and store it until the day.

Our new BSM director is coming to town and we are helping him move in, so couples of the guys from leadership and me were pretty busy helping him get his stuff in the storage room, but a good work out after all.

Yesterday I found out that a close friend from High School past away and right now I have a bitter sweet feeling, because I know he is in a better place but at the same time when you lose someone is hard to believe. If you can pray for my friend’s family and myself so that God can come and heal the wound it would be really appreciated.

Well today we have the last bible study of the semester, these bible studies were a success we had an average of 10 to 15, which is good and the greatest things of all is that we have people we didn’t see in the semester joining us and coming for couple of weeks now.

Even though it was a hard day with my friends lost, I did discover something about myself God made me awesome to overcome any circumstance.

Once again thanks for the support you are giving to this ministry and keep on praying that God can open doors with people that have never heard of him.
